The Simba Mhere Trial: Day two in court

Johannesburg- Day two of court proceedings in the Simba Mhere trial got underway at the Randburg Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning.

Simba and his best friend Kady-Shay O'Bryan were killed when the car they were travelling in was hit by another vehicle driven by the accused, Preshalin Naidoo.

At the time Simba and Kady were en-route to the J&B Met.

Preshalin has been accused of culpable homicide and reckless and negligent driving.

On Tuesday in a statement, Preshalin told the court that he lost control of his vehicle due to an "unforeseeable mechanical error."

When court resumed on Wednesday it was decided that an In Loco inspection would be conducted at the scene of the accident.

An In Loco inspection is the term used when a court decides to conduct an inspection where a crime or some other event that is connected to the case occurred.

Metro police closed off William Nicol Drive to motorists for just over 30 minutes as officials completed their inspection.

Officials on the scene told The Juice that the findings of the In Loco would be revealed in court.

Court resumes tomorrow.
