Johannesburg – It has been described as one of the most gruesome crimes involving a local personality.
DJ Donald was this year found guilty of murdering his girlfriend, Dolly Tshabalala.
Throughout the trial this year, Donald insisted that he had stabbed her in self-defence and that he loved her. Even after being found guilty, and during initial sentencing, he read out a letter to Dolly’s mom, apologising.
But Elizabeth Marawa rejected the apology, saying he should have said sorry earlier.
Judge Cassim found his version of events, “false beyond reasonable doubt” and sentencing is expected to be handed down in February, 2016.
