Cape Town – Four Capetonians are quickly gaining online popularity for their creative Star Wars outfits.
The guys decided to throw together some costumes on a budget and the result was pure meme magic.
“We decided to dress up for the first Star Wars: The Force Awakens screening at Cavendish on Wednesday morning. We even played the theme song while going up the escalator,” Anakin Skywalker, an engineering student at Stellenbosch University who asked to stay anonymous, told Channel24.
The guys, three engineers and a doctor, have captured the imaginations of Star Wars fans worldwide and have since been featured on popular sites like Reddit, Unilad and 9GAG.
Han Solo, the Stormtrooper, 3CPO/R2D2 and Anakin Skywalker all asked that their names not be published.
The sudden internet fame has seen them receive a lot of positive feedback including some comments on their looks and offers to bed them.
They’ve also been photoshopped into other Star Wars images by Reddit users.
