Cape Town – YouTube beauty vlogger James Charles has lost almost 2 million of his subscribers after an online feud in which a fellow influencer called him out online, Sky News reported.
In 2016, James became the first ever male ambassador for cosmetics brand, CoverGirl.
Tati Westbrook, who used to be friends with James and helped him get his career started, posted a 43-minute-long video calmly unpacking the drama.
Despite a lot of people not knowing anything about the vloggers or their history the feud has gone viral across the globe.
WHAT HAPPENED?
It all started when James posted a promotional video on his Instagram Stories for the hair vitamin company, Sugar Bear Hair, after they allegedly helped him out of a tight spot during Coachella.
The company is seen as a rival to Tati's own hair vitamin company, Halo Beauty.
Tati felt betrayed and reacted in an emotional Instagram Story, saying: "When you do so much for people in your life and they not only don't return the favour, but they just don't even see you... I feel really used."
After this post the beauty vlogger claims she received a lot of backlash and wanted to set the record straight. She then took to her YouTube page to post a video in which she makes several claims regarding James' way of doing business, him manipulating men by using his fame, and several other shocking revelations.
The video titled Bye Sister has had 25 million views at the time of publishing.
