  • Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich have ended their relationship.
  • The couple have been dating for six months and announced their engagement in July.
  • Now, while one source says their conflicting schedules pushed them apart, another said Demi "doesn't trust [Max] and thinks he's sketchy".

Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich have called it quits.

The couple, who started dating six months ago and announced their engagement in July, "decided to go their separate ways to focus on their respective careers," a source recently told People, with others adding that their conflicting schedules have made things tough on the pair over the past few weeks.

Another insider tells E! News though that Demi has been finding it hard to trust the soap star, and this after fans found old posts of Max calling Selena Gomez prettier than Demi. At the time, Demi called the posts "fake" and "doctored".

The source tells the publication that Demi didn't want Max going to Atlanta to work without her. "They were arguing a lot," the insider added. "There has been a lot of tension and Demi left him to get a clear head."

They added: "She didn't know who Max truly was and didn't think he had good intentions. There were many red flags she was ignoring and trying to turn a blind eye to. She doesn't trust him and thinks he's sketchy."

Another source said Demi feels Max may just have "proposed to get attention," while family and friends, including her mother, Diana De La Garza, had reservations about the 29-year-old.

Demi "really loved him and wanted it to work," the source said, but is spending time with her loved ones as she mends her broken heart. "Demi is really upset and distraught about it," the insider added.
