Queen Elizabeth banned these two popular foods from the royal kitchen – Here's why

accreditation

Queen Elizabeth's got the luxury of having chefs cook for her – and her royal pooches!

We're told the queen's corgis have their own special menu. At one point she had 12 corgis at the palace, and every day they'd have a selection of meats, including chicken, beef, rabbit and liver, as well as cabbage and rice laid out for them.

But there are two foods former royal chef Darren McGrady says they are absolutely prohibited from cooking with for the queen.

"We can never serve anything with garlic or too much onions," he recently revealed, reports Express.

Rare meat and anything too starchy is also not well received by Her Majesty.

Former royal chef John Higgins shared the all-too-obvious reason for the queen's ban on garlic and onions though saying: "The queen is a wonderful lady, the royal family are wonderful people but they're missing out on garlic because at Buckingham Palace you don't cook with garlic.

"I suppose, in case you get the royal burp."
