TV personality Alvin Bruinders says he is making his health a priority and has embarked on a fitness journey to shed 40kg.
Speaking to Huisgenoot, Alvin said he was shocked when he stepped on the scale in November, and he saw the number on the scale hit 150kg. He was also turned down for a life insurance policy, because his weight placed him in a high-risk category.
According to the Laat Die Potte Prut host, he is embarking on a new lifestyle not just for himself but also his wife of 14 years, Anrika, and their young son, Avrick.
The former Vetkoek Paleis actor has since made changes to his diet and increased his exercise, dropping an impressive 17kg so far!
Overjoyed with the results, Alvin tells Huisgenoot: "The lighter you get, the easier it gets, and then you want to be more active."
Alvin is documenting his fitness journey on a new lifestyle show on VIA Skud Dit Af, hosted by Melinda Bam, where he and Gerhard Steyn compete against each other to see who can lose the most weight at the end of the show.
