SEX workers are calling for Sifiso Mkhwanazi, known as the sex worker killer, to receive a life sentence.
Mkhwanazi made an appearance in the High Court, sitting in Palm Ridge, on Friday, 17 May.
The case has been postponed to 20 June.
Judge Cassim Moosa announced the postponement, stating it was to allow for an order as advised by the consulting psychiatrist at Sterkfontein Psychiatric Hospital.
"After reviewing the documents on record and considering the matter, the following order is issued: The investigating officer is to transport the accused to the hospital on Monday, 20 May for an assessment as per section 286(A) of the Criminal Procedure Act.
"Furthermore, the officer should ensure the accused is taken to the hospital on any additional dates the consulting psychiatrists may require to complete their assessment," Judge Moosa explained.

Outside the court, sex workers and other women expressed their desire for Mkhwanazi to "rot in jail."
Irene, a 34-year-old sex worker, emphasiSed the need for justice for their colleagues who were murdered while working.
"They were earning a living on the streets to support their families. They didn't deserve to die like dogs," she said.
"He even concealed their bodies, showing his utter disregard for their lives. He's a monster that should be isolated from society," Irene said.
Khombisile, another sex worker (40), highlighted Mkhwanazi's brutal actions and his lack of remorse throughout the court proceedings.
"The accused has inflicted immense pain and left children motherless. He should receive a life sentence for each woman he murdered," Khombisile said.
