Cape Town – Ariana Grande has landed in hot water after sharing photos of herself.
According to TMZ, the 7 Rings hitmaker is being sued by a photographer for sharing a photo he took of her with his permission or crediting him.
Court documents obtained by E! News, show that legal action is being taken against Ariana by Robert Barbera for copyright infringement.
The photographer is looking for monetary relief from the infringement as well as for "attorney fees and costs, falsifying copyright management, statutory damages up to $25k for each violation and punitive damages".
The photos in question have since been removed from Instagram but were legally obtained by TMZ.
In the pictures, Ariana appears to carrying a see-through bag with the word "Sweetener" – the title of her fourth studio album – imprinted on it.
The 25-year-old reported shared the photos on the social media platform in August 2018. It had gained over three million likes before it was removed.
