Ryan Reynolds is using his celebrity status to "spread the word, not the virus".
The Deadpool actor took to Instagram on Monday to talk about the coronavirus. And though he didn't shy away from using his humour, in part, to do so, he ultimately had a very important message for his fans: "Stay at home."
"We need to work together to flatten the curve and fight off Covid-19.
"I think in times of crisis, I think we all know it's the celebrities that we count on most. They're the ones who are going to get us through this. Right after healthcare workers, of course, first responders, people working in essential services, ping-pong players, mannequins, childhood imaginary friends," he joked.
"Look, stay at home, practice social distancing, wash your hands. We are going to get through this thing together," he said.
He then went on to nominate three fellow Canadians, of which included Seth Rogen, to share the message. Seth later did, in an Instagram post of his own.

This isn't the first time the 43-year-old has contributed to battling the pandemic. Last week he, along with wife, Blake Lively, donated $1 million to Feeding America and Food Banks Canada to help those in need.
Again, he also put his humour to good use telling fans to "call someone who's isolated and might need connection" before sharing his frenemy, Hugh Jackman's, number.
