Cape Town - British supermodel Naomi Campbell has admitted she’ll soon stop walking runways across the globe to make way for the next generation.
The 47-year-old’s career has spanned over three decades and she’s been a trailblazer in accomplishing major industry milestones, including becoming the first black model to appear on the cover of French Vogue in 1988.
Speaking at the Cannes Fashion for Relief charity show, Naomi admitted she sees her role in fashion changing.
“I don’t know if I can walk much longer, it’s been 32 years.” she confessed. “I’d love for it to be carried on by the younger generation and for me to sit in the audience and watch.”
Fashionistas got a taste of which models would take over from Naomi when she retires as the likes of Bella Hadid, Natalia Vodianova and Winnie Harlow all strutted their stuff for the show.
This year’s theme was 'Race to Equality', with the British stunner adding “equality means to me to be treated fairly in equal ways, impartiality, wherever you are in the world.”
Fashion for Relief was launched in 2015 and has raised millions for various causes, including the fight against Ebola and relief for Haiti following a devastating earthquake in 2010.
