Cape Town - Zak Williams, actor Robin William’s eldest child, welcomed his firstborn with fiancé Olivia June.

The mental-health advocate (36) and his fiancé, Olivia – CEO of women’s empowerment and community app Hey – paid a special tribute to the Hollywood actor when naming their little one, who was born on Wednesday, 12 June, E Online reports.

The pair named their bundle of joy, who weighed 3,6kg, McLaurin Clement Williams – taking his first name from the Goodwill Hunting actor’s second name.

The new arrival comes five years after the Jumanji actor took his own life at the age of 63, US Weekly reports.

During an interview with People, Zak opened up about his father’s devastating death.

“We’re still grieving,” Zak said. We’re moving through the process of healing and recovering.

“Often I see something or if I’m watching a film, I think, ‘Oh, man, he would’ve appreciated this’ or ‘He would’ve gotten a laugh out of this.’

Zak also revealed that his younger brother Cody and sister Zelda really struggled with her father’s death.

“The key thing is just to take things a step at a time,” Zak added.

“I know it sounds cliché, but really focusing on what’s in front of you, focusing on your wellbeing, and then trying to fill our hearts so we can be there for others is really important.”
