Well, turns out maybe not.

According to a close source, “someone extended the invitation to Brad to come to Jen’s party and he accepted.”

The source further told E! News the former couple – who tied the knot in 2000 and spilt five years later – are friends but that’s it.

“He [Brad] wanted to support Jen and it was a momentous occasion. But that’s the extent of it. It was a social evening with a lot of people who have been a part of her life. They definitely aren’t dating or on that path. They are friendly, but that’s it.”

The event marked a milestone birthday for Jennifer, prompting her to celebrate with all of the people who have had an impact on her life, People magazine reports.

“Brad, for long, was a very important part of Jen’s life. She debated back and forth with friends if she should invite him. She was very happy that he showed up. Many of his close friends were at the party too,” an insider told the publication.

Brad famously moved on from Jennifer with his Mr and Mrs Smith co-star Angelina Jolie. He and the Unbroken director abruptly split after a two-year marriage and 12-year relationship in 2016.

Jen went on to marry The Leftovers actor, Justin Theroux in 2015 but filed for divorce two-and-a-half years later.
