Miley Cyrus responds to fan groping her

Cape Town - It looks like a Miley Cyrus fan got a little too up, close and personal with the star as she and hubby Liam Hemsworth were trying to leave their Barcelona hotel in Spain.

A video of the 26-year-old being groped and forcibly kissed as she was making her way through a crowd over the weekend has been making the rounds on Twitter sparking online furore, USA Today reports.

In the video, Miley can be seen walking behind Liam when a man starts grabbing her hair and body eventually attempting to kiss her, Cosmopolitan reports.

The Wrecking Ball hitmaker tries to get away as security guards realise what’s going on and quickly separate her from the overenthusiastic fan.

American blogger Perez Hilton shared the video on his Twitter account with the caption, "Dear idiots, it is NOT acceptable to touch #MileyCyrus like this - or ANY stranger!"

Miley, who was in Barcelona to perform at the Primavera Sound Festival responded to the incident on Tuesday via Instagram Stories and Twitter. 

Sharing a clip from The View where they were discussing the incident and the response from internet trolls she wrote: "She can be wearing what she wants. She can be a virgin. She can be sleeping with 5 different people. She can be with her husband. She can be with her girlfriend. She can be naked. She CAN’T be grabbed without her consent. #DontFuckWithMyFreedom"
