US rapper Jay-Z has finally opened up about his marriage to Beyoncé and addressed all those cheating rumours that gained momentum after her album Lemonade was released.

In an interview on The Van Jones Show, the 48-year-old was asked burning questions about his wife of 10 years. And this time, he wasn’t shy to answer them.

When asked whether he would forgive Beyoncé if she was ever the one to cheat on him, the rapper gave an unexpected answer.

“I hope, because I’d love her the same way, no matter what side. She’s one of the strongest women I know”, he said.

He continued by saying Beyoncé is his soul mate, so they decided to fight for their love after news of his cheating was out in the open. They decided to give their children a home that they’ll be grateful for.

“She’s my soul mate and she’s the person I love. You can love someone, but if you haven’t experienced love and you don’t understand it and you don’t have the tools to move forward then you’re going to have complications,” he explained.

“For us, we chose to fight for our love, our family and to give our kids a different outcome. We wanted to break that cycle for black men and women. We were never a celebrity couple, we were a couple who just happened to be celebrities,” he said.

Jay-Z went on to say he had to show his wife how sorry he was after he cheated on her. He had to change his behaviour and do anything needed to win Queen B’s trust again.

“The best apology is changed behaviour. You have to acknowledge the pain and you have to let that person have their say,” he shared.

“You have to get on the floor or mattress, you have to really work through it and be honest. It takes time because it’s difficult to hear, say or listen to that sort of pain. You have to be strong enough to go through that”, he added.
