Cape Town - The royal children always seem to charm the public with their cute little antics.
According to a dog walker who bumped into Prince George (5) while he was out on a stroll with his grandmother, Carole Middleton, and sister, Charlotte (3), near the Middletons’ home in Berkshire, England, the third in line to the throne revealed he prefers to be called Archie, The Sun reports.
In an interview with the news outlet, the dog walker – who prefers to remain anonymous – says she started chatting with George, who had taken a shine to her dog and started petting it, Metro reports.
“Just to be friendly I engaged in a bit of small talk and I asked George what his name was, even though obviously I knew it,” she said.
“To my astonishment he said ‘I’m called Archie’ with a big smile on his face. I don’t know why he calls himself Archie but kids often play with their names and I think it’s lovely,” she added.
George already has many nicknames and when Kate was pregnant with him, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would refer to the infant as “Our Little Grape”.
It’s not known whether Archie is a family nickname or a moniker the little prince gave himself.
