Cape Town – A vacancy is opening up across the pond at none other than Buckingham Palace.
According to the Royal Household, The Palace is looking for a chef who can prepare “diverse menus” of the “highest standard” in London as well as other royal residences. And if you weren’t already sold on the very idea of working for the Queen, they also promise to harness and develop the successful candidate’s skills helping you to “take the next step in your career”.

The starting salary is £22 076 per annum (R386 093) with a “comprehensive benefits package” that includes 33 days of holiday, a 15% employer contribution pension scheme and access to a range of recreation facilities and meals while on duty. The role also offers the option to live-in with all, for which there is a salary adjustment, of course.

Former royal chef, Darren McGrady shared a few royal eating habits with Harper’s BAZAAR: Prince William and Prince Harry loved eating fast food growing up. “They were Royal Princes but had children’s plates,” he said. Now, we’re not too sure.
Of the Queen, we know she doesn't drink wine, though she's "hear[d] it's very good" while McGrady says she likes to choose her menus “three or more days” in advance. As for her preferences, she loves dark chocolate but refuses to eat garlic. “She hated the smell of it, she hated the taste of it," he says.
And you don’t have to worry about meals in the morning – she eats a simple breakfast of “Kellogg’s cereal from a plastic container, which she’d serve herself”, says McGrady.
“And some Darjeeling tea.” Of course.
