With Ex-Kaizer Chiefs attacker Khama Billiat having been sent off in the Zimbabwean Premier League this past weekend, his manager has since responded to the shock incident.

Billiat lasted just 68 minutes for his new side Yadah FC during their match against Herentals on Saturday.

The 33-year-old was given his marching orders for dissent, although some reports suggest that he also slapped one of his opponents after tensions came to a head during the clash.

According to Soccer24, after receiving the red card, Billiat decided to leave the Rufaro Stadium even before the match ended, with it suggested that he left the arena 15 minutes before the full-time whistle was blown.

The match eventually ended in a 1-0 defeat for Billiat's side, and his manager Thomas Ruzive has since admitted that the sending-off had a huge impact on the team.

“I cannot say much about Billiat's red card because I can't tell what really happened from where I was. It was a huge blow for us," Ruzive said, according to Savanna News.

"Our boys got confused a bit, and by the time they regained their focus, it was too late."

Notably, this incident comes shortly after Billiat opened his account for Yadah in the last week of April, when he registered a goal and an assist in a league clash against Ngezi Platinum.

Billiat will now miss his side's next match against CAPS United.
