Concert chaos... again

For the umpteenth time we're talking about what we get for the expensive concert tickets we buy.

While we're certainly tired of being taken advantage of by concert promoters, we won't stop making a noise about it until something changes.

R&B hottie Miguel performed in SA over the weekend and while some people had an amazing experience, others felt truly ripped off.

Poor organisation, broken promises, technical faults and more seem to mar almost all the big artists' shows that take place in South Africa.

Is it fair that many of us fork out hundreds in hard-earned ZAR just to be lied to, inconvenienced and disappointed? I'm over that.

Channel24 reader Lauren details her below-par experience at the Miguel concert here.

The next big concert I'll be attending in Cape Town is Justin Bieber's show in May, and I've got to be honest, I'm a little worried.

The Biebs performed in London on Monday and he was allegedly two hours late, forcing many parents to take their kids home before they even got to see their beloved pop star.

Not cool, Justin. Not cool.

For a star who's well aware of all his school-going fans, it's rather unacceptable.

Let's hope he's in better form and more considerate when he comes to South Africa. I did not pay R700 for a Golden Circle ticket to stand in the cold for two hours more than I need to.

How do you feel about big-ticket concerts in South Africa - are we being ripped off and abused or should we just be grateful that artists are finally playing our shores? E-mail us with your thoughts and you could be published.

Here's to the fans - and artists respecting us! .
