Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock have split after seven years of marriage.
The couple who married in 2013 have two children together, River Rose and Remington Alexander. The music manager, who represented Kelly and other stars including Blake Shelton, also has two children, Savannah and Seth, from a previous relationship.
According to CNN, The Voice coach filed for divorce on 4 June citing "irreconcilable differences" and requesting joint legal and physical custody of their children. There was also a prenuptial agreement in place between the two.
The news comes as a shock. According to E! News, a source close to Kelly and Brandon said: "It came out of nowhere. It's all so sad for the kids. They were always such a loving family. It never seemed like they had any issues."
Another source told the publication: "Brandon was around all the time on almost all show days and they were very loving towards one another. They drove home from set together every night."
However, People suggests their "really busy" schedules over the past year may have impacted married life.
Fans may still be surprised by the news though. The couple, along with their children, have been staying together at their Montana ranch amid the coronavirus pandemic, and sharing their sweet family moments with the world. In April Brandon recruited the kids to wish Kelly a happy birthday and said: "Happy birthday, baby. I love you more than you'll ever know."
