Clutching a golden microphone Lady Gaga performed a powerful rendition of the American Anthem dressed in a black-and-red gown with a large dove of peace broach pinned to her chest.

Dressed in all-white Jennifer Lopez performed both This Land is Your Land, and America the Beautiful. Earlier during the inauguration Former President Barack Obama was seen on-camera fist-bumping J.Lo's husband and former New York Yankee, Alex Rodriguez.

Other performances at the event included Garth Brookes who sang Amazing Grace. The American singer-songwriter took off his signature cowboy hat in respect and asked the crowd to join in as he sang.
Poet Amanda Gorman read a work she finished after the riot at the Capitol. At 22 she's the youngest inaugural poet ever in the United States.

The cultural celebrations will continue on Wednesday night with a two-hour special broadcast across six television networks and social media, hosted by the affable Toy Story actor Tom Hanks, reports Reuters.
The TV special, called Celebrating America, will feature performances and appearances from around the nation from stars including Bruce Springsteen, Katy Perry, Tim McGraw, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Justin Timberlake, Demi Lovato, and John Legend.
Biden's inaugural committee said the special will also feature teachers, delivery drivers, and healthcare workers, along with children who raised money to get food to people who have fallen on hard times because of the coronavirus pandemic.
