- Vanessa has since denied the claims and said she has always supported her mother.
- "My husband and daughter passed away unexpectedly and yet my mom has the audacity to do an interview on TV talking negatively about me," Vanessa said in her statement.
Vanessa Bryant is speaking out after her mother slammed her in a recent interview.
Speaking to Univision, Sofia Laine claimed her daughter kicked her out of the house Kobe Bryant gave her before his death, though adding the house was not officially in her name, reports E! News, and took away the car she was using.
Now, Vanessa has released a statement and called the interview "beyond hurtful", reports People.
"My husband and daughter passed away unexpectedly and yet my mom has the audacity to do an interview on TV talking negatively about me while shedding tears about a car and home that wasn't in her name," the 38-year-old said.
"She has removed all her diamond jewellery, emptied her apartment that I provide, and put the furniture in storage to appear as though she is without support. My husband and I have financially supported her over the past 20 years, and I continue to do so, in addition to her monthly alimony."
Vanessa added: "Contrary to previous reports, she has not been physically present or emotionally supportive for my daughters and me after my husband and daughter passed away. Going forward, I see what is most important to my mom and it is beyond hurtful. I hope this public airing of our personal relations will stop here."

Vanessa hasn't said much on the matter since but did share a post by Kobe's sister Sharia on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, as well as a photo of herself with her sister-in-law. The quote on her story read: "We are often let down by the most trusted people and loved by the most unexpected ones."
