"When something is your first project you have an enormous advantage. That advantage is called naivety," says director Pippa Ehrlich with a shy smile.
Her first documentary film, My Octopus Teacher, is currently available to watch on streaming giant Netflix and is raking in massive praise, awards, and global interest as more and more people find out about the real-life Charlotte's Web tale that played out in a magical forest under the sea.
"Naivety, because you don't really know what you've taken on," adds Pippa as she reveals how she stumbled upon the story of Craig Foster and his unique bond with an octopus that became his friend in the icy waters of the Atlantic Ocean in False Bay.
