It's been 23 years since her debut album, A Cry, A Smile, A Dance, and singer Judith Sephuma is still booked, busy and branching out. She remains highly driven, and her burning passion for live performances has not dissipated.

The next big event on her calendar is the Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF), which takes place from 3 to 4 May at the city's convention centre.

Sephuma says it's "absolutely exciting" to be performing at this year's CTIJF, with it returning after four years.
