To kick off the first week of September 2020, R&B luminaries Brandy Norwood and Monica took to the Verzuz virtual stage to face-off in a hit-for-hit music battle.

Created by hip-hop production stalwarts Swizz Beats and Timbaland, Versus hosts genre-based virtual battles between prominent musicians. Before Norwood and Arnold Verzuz hosted battles between the likes of Jill Scott and Erykah Badu, Alicia Keys and John Legend, Snoop Dogg and DMX, as well as gospel artists Kirk Franklin and Fred Hammond. 

After public deliberation on social media, most fans agreed that Brandy unanimously won the Verzuz battle after reminding fans of hits like What About Us?, Full Moon, I Wanna Be Down, Almost Doesn’t Count, Who Is She 2 U and Have You Ever
