Harry and Meghan sign with speaking agency that represents the Obamas

  • The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have signed with the Obamas and Clintons' speaking agency.
  • The move seems to signal the first of many for Harry and Meghan who seem to be forging their own path with their new organisation, Archewell.
  • Though the royal family has remained politically neutral, the couple will focus on social issues, including "racial justice, gender equity and mental health" going forward.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have signed with the Harry Walker Agency.

Though the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are still developing their new organisation, Archewell, they have "signed solely with Harry Walker for speaking engagements," a source confirmed to Entertainment Tonight, to "further their philanthropic goals".

The agency, which also represents Barack and Michelle Obama, and Bill and Hillary Clinton, will help them focus on key issues, namely "racial justice, gender equity and mental health" while the source said they wouldn't be speaking on their exit from the royal family.

"They have no plans to do any speaking engagements about the royal family," the insider said, as to avoid bringing "further discomfort" to the royal firm.

The move comes amid civil unrest in the US and Black Lives Matter protests. Though the royal family tends to remain politically neutral and steer clear of talking about many social issues, Harry and Meghan seem to be forging their own path, with Meghan already speaking openly and condemning the murder of George Floyd.

Most recently, the couple visited the gang rehabilitation centre Homeboy Industries in their new hometown of Los Angeles.

"THANK YOU to Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, for their visit yesterday! Our Bakery & Café teams were thrilled to have them work alongside us to #FeedHOPE to Los Angeles," the organisation shared on Twitter.
