Royal fans, you'll be excited to know that later this year a new book detailing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's exit from the royal firm will hit shelves.

According to Deadline, Harper Collins-owned Dey Street Books has secured the rights to the book titled Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, written by Harper's Bazaar royal editor, Omid Scobie and royal reporter for Elle and Oprah magazines, Carolyn Durand.

The book, which will be released on 11 August, "goes beyond the headlines to reveal unknown details of Harry and Meghan's life together, dispelling the many rumours and misconceptions that plague the couple on both sides of the pond," as per the press release.

The book will be "an honest, up-close, and disarming portrait" of the pair, "written with the participation of those closest to the couple".

In a joint statement, Omid and Carolyn said: "The aim of this book is to portray the real Harry and Meghan, a couple who continue to inspire many around the world through their humanitarian and charitable work but are often inaccurately portrayed.

"Our mission has been motivated by a desire to tell an accurate version of their journey and finally present the truth of misreported stories that have become gospel simply because of the amount of times they have been repeated. It is thanks to our sources that we have been able to share the definitive story of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex."

According to ITV News royal editor, Chris Ship, Harry and Meghan "cooperated with" the telling of their story.

Shortly after the book was announced, Omid shared on Twitter that preorders for the book had already topped the best sellers list in just 24 hours.

"I'm looking forward to sharing much more about #FindingFreedom when our world is in a better place (and it will be)," he wrote in another tweet. "For now, we just wanted to make news of this special book official as the listings begin to hit online retailers."
