Prime Minister, Jacinda Arden shared that she recently had a casual conversation with Queen Elizabeth – you know, just two female world leaders, catching up.
New Zealand forms part of the Commonwealth of Nations, which, of course, the queen reigns over. So Her Majesty just wanted to "see how everyone in New Zealand was getting on in the midst of Covid-19", according to a post Jacinda shared on Instagram.
"It was such a treat to speak with Her Majesty tonight. Her affection for New Zealand, her interest in what's happening here and her memory of places and events that are special to us never ceases to amaze me," she added.

New Zealand has made incredible progress in their fight against the coronavirus. According to CNN, the country has nearly eliminated the virus, with newly diagnosed cases in single digits in the past few days, and, as of Monday, just one new case.
Since the virus was first detected, New Zealand has reported 1 474 cases and 19 deaths.
As the country lifted restrictions this week, which saw children being able to return to school and others return to work, there was just one thing on everyone's mind though: burgers.
Popular fast food franchise, Burgerfuel, had to call the police after stores were reportedly "inundated with a stampede of customers".
Police said they received one call saying traffic was backed up close to the drive-thru. "Our call taker had to inform them that, that was, in fact, the queue."
