It was confirmed on Wednesday that Harry and Meghan will officially exit the royal firm on 31 March 2020.
Though the couple will carry out various engagements, which includes Harry's long championed Invictus Games in May, they will return to the UK on 28 February until 9 March for a farewell visit.
Appearances for the couple will include the Endeavour Fund Awards on 5 March, the Mountbatten Music festival at the Royal Albert Hall on 7 March, while Harry will attend an Invictus Games Choir event on 28 February and open the Silverstone experience with Lewis Hamilton on 6 March, and Meghan will attend an event for International Women's Day on 8 March. The couple will conclude all royal duties together with the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey on 9 March.
With the announcement made in January that Harry and Meghan would be stepping down as senior members of the royal family, and the queen's subsequent statement that they would lose all royal funds and their HRH titles, fans wondered whether the duke would also lose his place in the line of succession.
According to People, a spokesperson for the royals answered the big question on Wednesday though, saying, "As the grandson of Her Majesty and second son of the Prince of Wales, Prince Harry remains sixth in the line of succession, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's status in the order of precedence is unchanged."
They added, "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will formally retain their 'HRH' styles, but they will not actively use them. They will continue to be known as The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as well as by their titles of The Earl and Countess of Dumbarton and The Baron and Baroness Kilkeel."
Other notable details that came out of yesterday's discussion included the fact that the couple will officially close their Buckingham Palace office on 1 April and be represented by their UK charity foundation going forward.
While a decision still has to be made on whether or not they will be allowed to use the word 'royal' in their branding as planning still needs to go into establishing their new foundation, the causes they champion will not change.
Harry will also keep his military titles of Major, Lieutenant Commander and Squadron leader, but his honourary positions will fall away.
The royal source added, "As there is no precedent for this new model of working and eventual financial independence, the royal family and the Sussexes have agreed to an initial 12-month review to ensure the arrangement works for all parties."
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as they will continue to be called, have yet to comment on the latest developments on any of their platforms.
Though they will make an appearance in the UK in the coming week, they are still on Vancouver Island, Canada, at the moment.
Harry was spotted smiling as he left a local market this week, sandwich in hand, while Meghan has been photographed out with Archie.
