Filming back on track for 'Friends' reunion special

accreditation

After numerous delays due to the coronavirus pandemic filming for the Friends HBO Max reunion special is back on track.

The special was originally scheduled to begin filming in late March but was pushed back to May.

Co-creator Marta Kauffman told The Wrap: "We are hoping to be able to shoot in August, if all is well and there is no early second wave and the studio is open."

Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Courtney Cox, and Matthew Perry will all return for the "exclusive untitled unscripted" special.

Speaking about the format of the show, Marta told the publication that there would be "components that are fresh and new".

In April the Friends cast joined the All In Challenge auctioning off a chance for six lucky fans to join them for their reunion special.
