A stay at the Pullman Hotel gave me a fresh perspective on what it means to escape the city within the city.

After a long week in the hustle and bustle of a 9 to 5, what better way to seek tranquillity than to holistically avoid the busy streets of the CBD. Right? Wrong. You can have your cake and eat it, too, at the Pullman Hotel - and I'm not just referring to the 24-hour room service available.

The revolving door entering the hotel takes you into a contrasting scenery from the traffic and construction heavily occupying Riebeek Street. The transition is almost instantaneous. Think Narnia – an escape to an alternative universe where an atmosphere of contemporary design now occupies your vision right before you're greeted by staff with a friendly, "Welcome to the Pullman".
