Kaapzicht in the Bottelary Hills of Stellenbosch is a name you'll hear bandied about a lot in the industry. 

This because, added to their own wine production, winemaker and fourth-generation owner Danie Steytler Jr also makes wine for a number of his neighbours (the area of Bottelary still known for being one of the strongholds of longtime family-owned farms in Stellenbosch), as well as selling a sizeable amount of grapes off in bulk, though the quality of it wrestles with the term "bulk". 

Last week, Danie, his wife, Carin, assistant winemaker Kayleigh Hattingh, and viticulturist Carel "Callie" Hefer invited us (the enthusiast "we" of the industry) to their newly completed tasting room in the Hills. A structure that speaks to the easy-going nature of its owners, completely hidden from the road, but as an insider, suffice to say, if you know, you now KNOW.
