WATCH: Jared Leto transforms into bloodsucking Morbius in Spider-Man spin-off movie

Cape Town – Sony has released the first trailer for the Spider-Man spin-off movie Morbius.

Academy award-winner Jared Leto plays the titular character Micheal Morbius.

Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder he tries to cure himself with a treatment serum derived from bats, reports Deadline.

However, it has adverse effects as he develops superpowers like echo-location and a thirst for blood.

What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease.

Other cast members include Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, Jared Harris and Tyrese Gibson.
