Madonna postpones show after injuring knee

Cape Town – Pop icon Madonna was forced to postpone her concert at New York's BAM Howard Gilman Opera House on Monday night after injuring her knee, and she has been instructed to rest for three days. 

In a statement posted on her website, the artist's representatives said: "Unfortunately, Madonna's Madame X concert this evening at BAM Howard Gilman Opera House is postponed."

It went on: "Fans are encouraged to hold onto their tickets pending information on rescheduling." 

In a post on her Instagram, the 61-year-old wrote: "I am not a quitter. This hurts me more than you can imagine. It's time to take those heels and fishnets off for a few days! Thank you for your understanding. See you very soon!"

The Madame X tour started on 17 September 2019 in New York City, and is set to conclude on 8 March 2020 in Paris, according to Madonna.com.
