Cape Town - The father of late US rapper Mac Miller has responded to the arrest of Cameron James Pettit, his son’s alleged drug dealer.

In an emotional speech at a tribute held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mark McCormick spoke of his son’s loyalty, Rolling Stone Reports.

"He remained loyalist to his friends. He was always loving and kind to others," he said before reacting to the news of the arrest.

"So they finally caught the motherf*cker that sold him the drugs that killed him," he told the crowd before warning them about the dangers of drug addiction.

"Many of us who were young, including me, experimented with drugs. But it’s a different f*cking world out there and all it takes is a little tiny stone of fentanyl and cocaine and you’re dead. Don’t take the risk. It’s just not worth it," he said.

Mac Miller, real name Malcolm James McCormick, died in September last year after an apparent drug overdose. He was 26 and had a history of drug addiction.

Last week Pettit (28) was arrested and charged for allegedly providing the rapper with counterfeit oxycodone pills, containing fentanyl, two days before his overdose.
