Best known for roles such as Katlego on Home Affairs and Sibongile on Isibaya Lerato is now streaming into music too. The mother of two has released a single titled Sthingthing. Lerato says our social ills inspired her song. “Some men in our society behave really badly, not being present and active fathers, abusing their families, killing women, sleeping with young girls and being blessers. There are also very good men out there, we just need to see more of them,” she says.

On the song, the actress has worked with popular musicians Mpumi and Professor. She says Mpumi is one of the best talents the music business has. “Not only do we stand for the same issues but Mpumi is also my best friend. When Professor heard the song he said, ‘I need to be on this track’ and there he is on the track and I have acquired a new friend too,” she says.

The entertainer adds that a music video is coming out soon and that fans can follow on social media too.
