Kick off December with 3 new things to watch on TV tonight

It’s the last month of the year and although most of us are still work that December feeling is in the air.

From a show that will tickle your taste buds, to Helen Mirren playing royalty again, to a local romantic comedy – here are our top three recommendation.

Feestyd met Taste

18:30 - Via (DStv 147)

Kate Wilson, the editor of SA’s most popular gourmet food magazine Taste, shows us how she and her team prepare for the 2019 festive issue. It will be a celebration of long-held traditional dishes that never fail to disappoint, and of course, an introduction to something new and delectable to the palate.

Catherine the Great

20:00 - BBC First (DStv 119)

With the incomparable Helen Mirren portraying the controversial Russian monarch Catherine the Great, this miniseries is set to be a perfectly detailed piece of storytelling. Towards the end of her tumultuous reign, Catherine’s legacy was marred by scandal and conflict, but Catherine is still praised with being the long-running female ruler in a time when being an empress was no easy feat.
