Murder mystery at sea

Cape Town - New drama series Waterfront on kykNET (DStv 144) kicked off with a bang on Tuesday nighy. Literally. The body of millionaire Ben Myburgh (Dawid Minnaar) was found on his yacht in Cape Town's Waterfront.

Was he murdered or did he die of natural causes? The mystery deepens when the tragedy eventually reunites his three daughters Julia (Milan Murray), Anna (Rolanda Marais) and Kate (Trix Vivier). The series, co-produced by internet streaming service Showmax, delves deep into the underbelly of the Waterfront and we love the flashbacks that give viewers pointers towards the killer’s identity.

While on set, we caught up with the Myburgh girls to find out a bit more of who they are.

Milan: It's pretty obvious what she (Kate) is all about.

Trix: Ja, mine (Kate) is sort of a device (laughs), an external search for self-confidence, really.

Milan: My character looks so corporate and so put together, and meanwhile she’s just running her own business and trying to impress everybody. Hers is also a mask in way. But Kate is also a bit OCD and she’s structured and punctual and a perfectionistic. So the lines in her wardrobe are very clear-cut and straight and monochromatic and precise.

Rolanda: Anna has been living in London for the past four years and she's always been quite stylish. She has a good sense of style but she’s understated because she doesn’t have that extraverted personality like her sisters. She’s a lot more introverted and quiet and I think you can see that in the way she dresses.

Catch Waterfront Tuesdays at 20:00 on kykNET (DStv 144).
