WATCH: The trailer for Making a Murderer 2 teases new evidence

Cape Town – The trailer for the second season of Netflix’s documentary Making a Murderer has been released.

The first season recounted the story of Steven Avery and his nephew, Brendan Dassey, who were convicted in the 2005 murder of Wisconsin photographer Teresa Halbach. A murder for which Avery and Dassey are currently serving life sentences.

Over the course of 10 new episodes, the sequel provides an in-depth look at the high-stakes post-conviction process, exploring the emotional toll the process takes on all involved.

In the trailer we meet Avery's new attorney Kathleen Zellner, who specialises in overturning wrongful convictions.

The clip also teases new evidence, more conversations with Avery and Dassey and a family member of Halbach is also featured.
