Sun City - On Thursday, 13 February a new bachelor will start his quest for love on the second season of The Bachelor SA as 36-year-old Marc Buckner puts it all on the line to find the partner of his dreams.

During a special screening for South African media at Sun City on Thursday, M-Net showcased the first episode of the sizzling second season of the much-loved reality dating show.

Although our lips are sealed as to what exactly goes down in the new season, we can reveal that there are loads of plot twists and tons of drama heading your way.

During a Q&A session with the press after the screening the show’s Executive Producer, Donald Clarke and M-Net’s Head of Local Productions, Kaye Ann Williams revealed a few more secrets about the show.

1) Fewer contestants

This season only 22 contestants instead of 24 will vie for a final rose from Marc. Each contestant that was cast in the reality show speak to a different facet of Marc’s personality which will make it much harder for him to decide who should stay and who will go home.

Three contestants have already been made public. The three women are TV personality Rikki Brest, business development manager Payal Sewbalak, and 26-year-old UCT Masters student Qiniso Van Damme. The rest of the cast will be revealed very soon.

2) More time with The Bachelor

This season each episode will be 55 minutes long. The first episode will once again be available on YouTube

3) What happens in the mansion doesn't stay there

Compared to the first season, this season will reveal much more about what happens in the mansion and a lot of the focus will be on the stories that develop there. For viewers there will be a lot more to see and loads more "spiciness", according to Donald.

4) A new mansion

The Bachelor SA has moved to a new house. Season 1 was filmed in a mansion in Sandton. This season the show moved to Northcliff. The new house allows for the cocktail party and the rose ceremony to be held in the same space where the ladies live.

The Bachelor SA season 2 kicks off on Thursday, 13 February at 19:00 on M-Net (DStv 101)
