Cape Town - Brad Pitt recently opened up about checking himself into an all-male alcoholics anonymous group for half a year, amid his split from wife Angelina Jolie, People reported.
"I’d taken things as far as I could, so I removed my drinking privilege," the 55-year-old revealed.
Brad described his time with the AA group as a "safe space".
"You had all these men sitting around being open and honest in a way I’ve never heard," he said.
According to PageSix, the father-of-four attended AA meetings in an attempt to tackle his alcoholism which was one of the reasons the couple split.
"It was actually really freeing just to expose the ugly sides of yourself. There’s great value in that."
Brad also revealed that it was a freeing experience.
". . . there was little judgment, and therefore little judgment of yourself."
The Hollywood stars candidness on his sobriety comes a few days after Angelina admitted to 'not feeling very strong' over the past few years amid their divorce.
