She’s got beauty, brains and she’s vocally talented.

Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi is a force to be reckoned with – and she’s providing her followers with perfect lockdown content.

It all started when the 26-year-old stunned us all whenshe unveiled her powerful vocals singing Lebo Elle Tisane’s famous song Nobody but You in late 2019.

Most recently she uploaded a video of her singing Andra Day’s Rise Up, encouraging her followers to keep holding on.

Take a look at some of our favourite videos below:

Zozi is currently in lockdown in her New York apartment, and her parents, Lungisa and Philiswa, can’t help but reminisce about the good old days when the beauty queen used to fill the house with her sweet singing.

“She’d sing when doing the chores at home. When she’d be cleaning and singing, we’d feel there’s potential. It was just a matter of rolling it out,” Lungisa tells YOU. “We’d feel that should she be given a platform, she’d come up with something good.”

From just the age of eight, her father says he could tell she had a great love for music.

“She was interested in listening to music, she’d want you to play the same song over and over . . . even as she grew older, she’d watch music channels,” he went on to say.

Although Zozi belted out songs on a regular basis, her interest was mostly in pageantry.

“Music was just part of her,” Philiswa says. “What she loved most was the pageants so she was always with the pageants, but when she was doing her chores at home, she’d always sing Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Kelly Rowland; mostly RnB.”

The doting dad went on to add that while they miss their daughter, the Tunzi family is very proud of how far she’s come. In addition, they always encourage her to keep going and most importantly, take extra safety precautions during the pandemic.

“We don’t go a week without talking to her, we have a video group chat as a family and we always want to find out how she’s doing.”
