Cape Town – Hype from the Oscars is starting to settle and although the glitzy night is over, social media ensures memories of the night still remain.

Along with our favourite moments, our favourite GIFs and more, comes just about the saddest thing you will ever see!

Eddie Redmayne took home the Oscar for Best Performance in Theory of Everything, but one of his competitors, Michael Keaton who was nominated for Birdman, was so convinced he would win that he already had his speech out.

Unfortunately for Keaton, Redmayne took the win and he was left quickly stuffing his written speech back into his pocket.

Sadly it was caught on camera and has done the rounds on social media, according to the Mirror.

Watching this vine will absolutely break your heart… Shame man!

He did however get to say something short when the film took the Oscar for Best Picture.
