Cape Town – Singer Chad Saaiman remained in a critical condition on Monday morning, after being wounded in an attempted hijacking in Johannesburg on Sunday.
His brother, Lee Saaiman, told Channel24 that Chad's condition remained unchanged. "I am going back to the hospital at 15:00 for an update, then we will know if anything has changed," he added.
Saaiman, who was shot in the stomach during the incident, was in ICU on a ventilator at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Hospital.
He reportedly underwent surgery on Sunday night. Stereotype Records spokesperson Tony Blonde said on Monday that "a few other organs were damaged".
Saaiman was on his way home from friend and fellow artist Loyiso Bala's house at the time of the shooting.
