Canadian rapper Drake is in the spirit of giving and the city of Miami seems to be his chosen beneficiary.

E-News recently reported that the God’s Plan singer surprised a Miami maid with a $10 000 (R118 000) shopping spree after reading her touching story in the Miami Herald.

According to the Miami Herald, Fontainebleau Miami Beach housekeeper Odelie Paret spends up to four hours travelling to work. The 62-year-old also cares for her five children and family back in Haiti.

After reading her story Drake teamed up with football player and Miami native Antonio Brown to treat Odelie to a lavish day.
Odelie was treated to a massage at Lapis, Fontainebleau’s four-star spa, and dined at Miami's StripSteak steakhouse before being whisked away in a fancy ride that took her to Saks Fifth Avenue where Drake and Antonio where waiting for her.

She was given 45 minutes to shop at the closed store and pick anything she wanted with no limit. And after freezing for a moment Odelie finally shopped to the tune of $10 000.

Drake made the news last week when he donated large sums to schools in Miami, a women’s shelter and even paid for everyone’s groceries in a grocery store.

According to BET, the rapper filmed a scene for his God’s Plan music video at a Miami high school and reports suggest the Hotline Bling hit-maker’s philanthropy will be documented in the vid.
