Multiple award-winning muso Zahara’s revealed a bit more about her break up last year with Umhlobo Wenene DJ Amaza, saying she believes they split because she wasn't in love. Chatting to presenters on Metro FM’s Fresh Breakfast, the singer said “He’s a good man and a nice guy. I learnt a lot from him, from our love. I think maybe the fact that I was fond of him as a radio personality contributed [to thinking she was in love with him]”.
“Growing up I loved him and I think that I was more of a fan. Maybe he also loved Zahara [the persona],” she explained. “I admire him. He never did anything [wrong]. We eventually realised we weren’t in love. It wasn’t working."
Zahara and Amaza called off their engagement at the end of 2016 and Zahara has since found love with new beau Ian Sibiya who she adores.
The star recently switched labels to Warner Music and her new album, Mgodi, dropped today.
