Cape Town - After losing her husband, Dumi Masilela, in a botched hijacking in Tembisa six months ago, Simphiwe Ngema took to Instagram to honour Dumi on what would have been their second wedding anniversary.

In August last year Dumi and a friend were in his VW Golf 7 when a Jeep approached them. The Rhythm City actor tried to flee but they were chased down and a hijacker opened fire, fatally wounding the actor.

In an interview with True Love, Simphiwe said that sometimes it’s hard to accept her husband has passed on.

“I’m finding my ways and new ways to live and, yes, there are days when I wake up and I’m still in disbelief that this has happened to me but I’ve accepted that this is my reality, so I need to pick myself up. My husband isn’t here anymore to go and work for us,” she said.

“Losing your husband at such a young age is like losing your entire life and your future. All my dreams were around Dumi, having kids and the work we wanted to do together. Every day I feel like I’m being reborn and I have to learn how to walk again,” she added.
