Since winning the MTV Base VJ Search in 2012, Nomuzi “Moozlie” Mabena has made it big in Mzansi’s entertainment industry – adding rapper and international correspondent to her repertoire. If that’s not enough, the self-proclaimed Skhanda Queen recently teamed up with worldwide footwear band, Steve Madden for a project titled Moozlie versus X Steve Madden Music.
Steve Madden started their music programme in South Africa in late 2016 and the project is said to align with the launch of Moozlie’s debut mixtape, aptly titled Versus, on 13 October.
Over the years she’s been building her image and now at 25 years old she’s unquestionably making her mark.
“The first Steve Madden Music collaboration in South Africa is the purposeful choice of an artist who not only displays a versatile mix of musical talent but carries the fierce and fancy Steve Madden persona. Upon hearing of Moozlie’s interest in recording a mixtape, the potential to support and elevate her sound seemed undeniable,” Steve Madden SA marketing manager Sarah Vance said in a statement.
“The co-creation of ‘Versus’ is spearheaded by Moozlie’s creative process and supported further by Steve Madden.”
Some of her work include featuring on hits like DJ Speedsta's Don't Panic, Rouge's Mbongo/Zaka and AKA's all-female collaboration remix Baddest. She also has hits of her own in the form ofThe recipe and Ride or Die featuring Yung Swiss.
