Singer, song writer, media personality and Idols judge Unathi Msengana who recently revealed that she and her husband broadcaster Thomas Msengana recently opened up about the song Hlala Nami which she says is a song that talks of conversations couples should have before breaking up.
"The sing chronicles the journey of couples who are at the brink of breaking up. It also chronicles the ego that sometimes we go through when we don't want to admit that we are wrong or that we are stubborn and you don't want to take responsibilty of what caused problems for you as a couple," she explains.
The song, Unathi says was meant to be a solo song but she decided to do it as a duet with singer Mondli Ngcobo.
"I begged Mondli to feature because I wanted both the male and the female side featured in the song. So we look at the situation from both angles"
Unathi says in the song she hopes couples will get an understanding that you need to have a talk and humble yourself and be open with your partner before deciding to call it quits.
Hlala Nami is on Unathi's recently released album Brave, True and Strong available nationwide.
