Cape Town – An almost unrecognisable Charlize Theron was spotted at a few Cape Town restaurants recently, sporting a shaved head for her role in new film Mad Max 4: Fury Road.

After spending the last three months filming Mad Max 4: Fury Road on location in Namibia, South African-born Charlize is in Cape Town to film the last part of the movie.

Denis Lillie, executive head of the Cape Film Commission, told Die Burger that preparations were being made to film the last part of the film at the Cape Town Film Studios outside Somerset West. Some scenes will also be shot in the city centre.

According to Life is Savage, Charlize was spotted at Café Caprice in Camps Bay on Friday afternoon where she posed for photos with fans. Christina Mallion posted the following photo on her Twitter page:

Luc Lenferna posted the following on his Twitter page on Friday: "Hello Charlize, how are you?" Together with this photo:

According to zalebs, Charlize enjoyed lunch on Wednesday with her mother Gerda, and adopted son, Jackson, at the popular Grand Beach Café restaurant in Granger Bay, near the V&A Waterfront.

So why the report .....She is just another South African. Is she really any better than anyone else ?

      florence.troly - 2012-11-19 12:45

She's like N.Mandela, O.Pistorius. She's represent South africa througout the world and South africa, south africans citizens must be proud of that. She's a very good person.

      kenpeg.dawson - 2012-11-19 12:55

No not better just more famous. What have you done with your life?

      maylani.bezuidenhout - 2012-11-19 14:20

not better. Rather talented though and a good person. Oh and she's pretty. Lucky? I'm a fan. Nice to see her back home.

      a.j.bosch - 2012-11-19 20:14

      philip.vde - 2012-11-20 14:23

How does she represent South Africa ?? She doesn't even want to be associated with South Africans .... she said it herself !!

      adrianverasmus - 2012-11-20 19:11

I totally agree...she is probably one of the worst actresses in hollywood; she is totally fake and really peeves the heck out of me...just a silly broad from Boksburg.

      christopher.collings.9 - 2012-11-20 19:38

      jealousy makes u nasty huh

  • riaan.myburgh.12 - 2012-11-19 12:06

She is not South African any more! She traded us for a green card long ago!

      florence.troly - 2012-11-19 12:49

SHE IS SOUTH AFRICAN !!! AS WELL AS U !!! She had never traded your country. She made a wonderful work with her foundation for S.africa. She have the 2 nationality. She did'nt give up her south african's nationality. She always have her South african pasport !!! NEVER SHE'LL TRADE U !!!

      kenpeg.dawson - 2012-11-19 12:56

She is still Proudly South African, A product of Benoni. If you export a good wine to America does it become American?

      yolanda.roozen - 2012-11-19 14:02

She does not even speak English anymore, even when she visits SA she speaks with an American accent.

      maylani.bezuidenhout - 2012-11-19 14:22

Meeowwww Yolanda. I heard her speak fluent Afrikaans on American TV - does that count? I think its easier to keep the US accent if you don't swap and change but she certainly doesn't sound American.

      mlungisi.botha - 2012-11-20 14:19

Riaan of course she is SAn. It's what's in a person's head that determines who or what they are. I know lots and lots of Brits (as they call themselves) who've lived here for yonks but to all intents and purposes still see themselves as Brit. Thats ok with me. You can't (and should never)force them to be SAn. There are also SAns (Black, Brown and White)who've cut ties with SA and can't bear to be associated with SA (probably for reasons justifiable to themselves). Charlize (accent and all) still considers herself a thoroughbred boermeisie from Benoni. South Africa is in k*kstraat right now but she still identifies with it - it doesn't mean she identifies with all the k*k that's going on. I'm proud of you girl shaven head and all!

      squeegee.pilot - 2012-11-22 16:33

      Oh, grow up...

  • Alice - 2012-11-19 12:29

    I love you Charlize!!

  • kenpeg.dawson - 2012-11-19 12:54

She is a stunner no matter what.

  • lielie.smit - 2012-11-19 13:09

    Boring!

  • riaan.myburgh.12 - 2012-11-19 14:17

She is just an American on a nice Africa safari! Go back to your homeland, the States that is!

      wikus.vandemerwe.18 - 2012-11-19 18:20

I agree. She speaks in an American accent all the time, unlike some Australian actors like Crowe and Kidman, and only wants to be South African when it involves Mandela or charity.

  • chris.shield - 2012-11-19 15:00

Who the hell wrote this?!? How does one don a shaved head?

      compos.mentis.58 - 2012-11-20 12:02

and here I was hoping they showed some other shaved bits.... damn....

  • beverly.young3 - 2012-11-20 00:02

HEY!! she is an awesome young lady who worked her ass off and did good! Stop downing her. I would be so proud if she were my daughter!! We of SA need to laud her achievements, she is 'proudly South African' and never forgets her roots. So she lives in America, so what? darn but there are some strange people out there. Its the 'tall poppy' syndrome, get a life!

      Jane - 2012-11-20 08:49

It is typical South African attitude. Bitch about people leaving our country to make it somewhere else. Try being proud of South Africans who go overseas and make a name for themselves, they representing South Africa afterall. And who cares about the accent, my niece moved to the UK when she was 5, she is 10 now and has a British accent, does that mean she is no longer South African, even though she was born here and her parents were raised here and they all have dual citizenship?

      mlungisi.botha - 2012-11-20 14:23

Jane, I agree 100% - no sorry, make that 101%.

      christopher.collings.9 - 2012-11-20 19:40

ag Yaya they are just jealous cos they havent accomplished as much as she has, u know the saying jealousy makes u nasty

      benita.debeer.58 - 2012-11-22 10:23

I agree. Why do South Africans always have such bad things to say. Why are South Africans so jealous and so rude? This woman is a great celeb and a great ambassador for our country. I appreciate what she does and who she is, even though I don't know her personally. Stop criticizing her.

ibogainesa, she has made quite a big success of her life, and carries our south African name quite well overseas, thanks to people like her that contribute by putting us on the map and not just a normal AFRICAN country. so I think she has done well, if it was you we would also be proud of you...
